The Future of the Uncanny X-Men

There's a good interview with Kieron Gillen about the future of Uncanny X-Men post-Schism on NewsaRama.

Seems like Wolverine is going to be taking off with his supporters in the book "Wolverine and the X-Men" with Uncanny X-Men relaunching at #1 following Scott and his supporters, all under the X-Men: Regenesis banner. Jason Aaron will be writing the Wolverine book, which is always great to see! Not sure how much the promo art they've release will reflect the actual division of the teams but they seem to be splitting up the couples as well as the teams!

Check it out here!

  1. Exactly what I was hoping NOT to see happen. Ugh. Taking the greatest thing about Marvel and trying to go the reboot angle of DC. Not going to be good. This is one unhappy longtime fan.

  2. I should clarify the 'reboot' bit. I don't think they're going to actually frig with the history. I just think it is a poor idea to reboot at #1 to entice new readers with such a drastic change in the X world.

  3. I think it's a great idea to entice new readers. The history and all the stories are still there. The number on the cover is just that, a number on the cover. The day it makes a difference in what I read is the day I stop reading comics.
